On Dec 30, 2022, there was a fireside meeting with Jennifer Kim and portfolio students at Icon. Jennifer Kim was one of our 21-22 senior students and prepared supplemental portfolio with Icon. She has attended Icon about 6 years since she was in middle school.

Jennifer currently attends Harvard University with major in Biology and possible minor in Art. But she got acceptance from many other colleges also such as Duke University, Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Southern California, University of the Pacific, Boston College, University of California (Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Los Angeles).

During the fireside meeting, Jennifer shared her experience of portfolio: since when she did start the portfolio, how she did decide the theme of the portfolio, why the supplemental portfolio is beneficial to college application, what struggles she had and how she overcame these struggles. At the end of the meeting, she advised to current portfolio students, “Keep an open mind, Don’t be afraid to fail.”
